Dr. Shaba grew up in Michigan. In high school, his love for horses and science led him to decide to become an equine vet. When he was a student, he came to visit Hagyard and enjoyed his time here so much that he decided to stay! He enjoys working on cases involving primary care, reproduction, neonatal medicine, ophthalmology, and chiropractic care. His favorite memory of being a vet is when he traveled to New Zealand to work the breeding season. The biggest lesson he has learned as a vet is that patience is important, and kindness always wins. Outside of work, Dr. Shaba enjoys spending time with his dog, horseback riding, camping, gardening, traveling and exercising. Given that he is a field care doctor, it's no surprise he is also an early bird! He enjoys the Winter months and hopes to visit Patagonia one day. He can't live without his Nutribullet blender and his ultrasound!
